Why Black Americans Need to Dump the Democrat Party and Join Conservatives

NAACP President and CEO Ben Jealous has stated publically that African Americans are doing worse under Obama than President Bush, saying “When you look at joblessness in this country, the country’s back to pretty much where it was when this president started,” he said. “White people in this country are doing a bit better. Black people are doing far worse.”[1]  While Obama’s approval rating remains below 50% for all Americans, black Americans give Obama an 84% approval rating according to a Gallup poll – despite the harm his policies have done to their communities.[2] African Americans have lost more wealth under Obama than under any president since the Great Depression. According to Financial Times writer Edward Luce: “The median non-white family today has a net worth of just $18,100 – almost a fifth lower than it was when Mr. Obama took office. White median wealth, on the other hand, has inched up by 1 per cent to $142,000. In 2009, white households were seven times richer than their black counterparts. That gap is now eightfold. Both in relative and absolute terms, blacks are doing worse under Mr. Obama.”[3] And, while the black unemployment rate is currently down to 8.8% as of February 2016, the underemployment U-6 rate is as high as 20.1%[4], and Black workers have seen their paychecks go down since 2009, from a median household income of $35,953 to $35,398.[5]

The illiberal centralized government programs don’t help black Americans out of poverty, but instead have the reverse effect of perpetuating economic hardship and making black families dependent upon government handouts. These hardships have only been worsened by increasing single parent and broken homes, near record-high black youth unemployment, and black illegitimate births peaking at 72.2% of all black births.[6] Even the then Senator Barack Obama echoed similar sentiments in a March, 2008 campaign speech when he said, “A lack of economic opportunity among black men, and the shame and frustration that came from not being able to provide for one’s family, contributed to the erosion of black families – a problem that welfare policies for many years may have worsened.”[7]

Democrat President Lyndon B. Johnson, a “hero” civil rights leader, said to two governors on Air Force One, “I'll have those n*ggers voting Democratic for the next 200 years."[8] While LBJ is credited by illiberal Democrats for ending racism and segregation in America, Democrats are the party responsible for the contemptible Jim Crow laws. LBJ was a racist who only promoted and signed the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the 1965 Voting Rights Act because he thought it was politically expedient.[9] When he put his signature on the Civil Rights Act, he noted that Democrats were “signing away the South for 50 years.”[10]

If black Americans want to see examples of the destruction sewn by regressive illiberal policies, they just need to look at the places where Democrats have been in charge. Blacks have suffered the most under decades of regressive rule – Flint, MI; Detroit, MI; St. Louis, MI; New Haven, CT; Memphis, TN; Oakland, CA; Little Rock, AS; Baltimore, MD; Rockford, IL; Stockton, CA; and other Democrat-controlled “wonders”.[11] Before the Civil War and up to the 1960’s, Democrats had been the party of slavery, racism, and bigotry for most of our country’s history. The Republican Party was the original civil rights party, founded for the purpose of further fulfilling the Founders’ vision of freedom by eradicating slavery from the States.  If “Black Lives Matter” wants to go after the real roots of racism and the critical issues that black Americans face with economic opportunity, jobs, crime, drugs, education and poverty levels, the should look no further than the regressive policies of the Democrat party and its leaders.

It’s time for Black Americans to leave the Democrats and support their true allies, conservatives and the Republican Party.

It’s time for Christians (including Catholics) to Reconsider Any Allegiance to the Democrat Party

If you’re a Christian (including Catholic) and a Democrat, you need to reconsider your allegiance to a party that is increasingly anti-Christian and poses a significant threat to your religious liberties.  President Obama has been on the forefront of this illiberal movement, as the most anti-Christian president in US history, despite the fact that he calls himself one, and his Democrat party is aligned with his every move.  Here are just some facts to consider:

  •       The Obama Administration has denied Catholics’ religious freedoms by mandating abortions in health insurance plans. His Justice Department is actively fighting 56 separate federal court cases aimed at forcing 140 religious ministries and institutions to cooperate with ACA regulations that require virtually all health care plans in the country to cover contraceptives, sterilizations and abortion-inducing drugs and devices – in violation Christian faiths.   Among the Christian institutions involved in these lawsuits with the administration are 15 Catholic dioceses and archdioceses, along with many Catholic universities, schools and religious orders.[1]
  •        A Catholic group, Priests for Life, along with other prominent groups including the Catholic Archdiocese of Washington, D.C., Catholic Charities of D.C., the Catholic Information Center, Thomas Aquinas College and the Catholic University of America, are making the same argument in their appeal to the Supreme Court: The administration is trying to force it to act against the Catholic faith.[2]
  •        In a 2011 case before the Supreme Court, Hosanna-Tabor v. EEOC, an employment dispute at a Lutheran school, the Obama administration argued that the First Amendment's religion clauses do not exempt churches from employment discrimination laws, even when considering head clergy. This extreme position would, unbelievably, allow a non-Christian to become a Christian minister, or a non-Muslim to become an imam.  A unanimous Court rejected the administration's argument as untenable, saying, "We cannot accept the remarkable view that the Religion Clauses have nothing to say about a religious organization's freedom to select its own ministers."[3]
  •       Despite the thousands killed by Islamic terror attacks here in America, and the daily news of Islamic terror and killings globally, a new poll reveals that an astounding 45% of Democrats who responded believe that Christians are a greater threat to America than Muslims, while 2/3 of all Americans believe that Muslims pose the greater threat.[4]
  •       While President Obama and the Democrat party have refused to use the words “Islamic terrorism”, he has been completely silent on the rampant genocide against Christians in the Middle East – so much so that a bipartisan bipartisan group of lawmakers has introduced a resolution to fill the leadership void.[5] This resolution condemns the Islamic State’s murder of Christians and other religious minorities as “war crimes”, “crimes against humanity” and “genocide”, labels that Obama and the Democrat Party as a whole have so far refused to use.[6]
  •        As part of his speech during the National Prayer Breakfast in 2015, Obama downplayed acts of Islamic terrorism taking place around the world and equated ISIS with Christians from the past, stating, "Lest we get on our high horse and think this is unique to some other place, remember that during the Crusades and the Inquisition, people committed terrible deeds in the name of Christ.”[7]  Louisiana Governor Jindal responded appropriately, saying "Today, however, the issue right in front of his nose, in the here and now, is the terrorism of radical Islam, the assassination of journalists, the beheading and burning alive of captives….We will be happy to keep an eye out for runaway Christians, but it would be nice if he would face the reality of the situation today. The medieval Christian threat is under control, Mr. President. Please deal with the radical Islamic threat today”.[8]
  •       The Democrat Party removed all references to God in its 2012 Democrat Party platform and speeches planned at the 2012 Democrat Convention. They changed this policy at the last minute due to a public outcry, however they showed their true colors then.

Christians and Catholics need to know that conservatives have shown a very different approach to protecting our Constitutional religious freedoms and liberties. (And, no, Jesus was NOT a socialist! In the New Testament, Christ never encouraged his followers to steal property from one to give to another to whom it doesn’t belong, or to give more to Caesar for the government at the time to redistribute; he instead preached acts of individual sacrifice, charity, kindness and generosity – which perfectly align with true conservative values).  The GOP is the party that will defend the Christian faith from attacks by progressives and support our country’s Christian roots, while the Democrats have shown themselves to be essentially secular as today’s anti-God and anti-Christian party.

"Cues for Conservatives" - New Book and Multimedia Project - Launching March 30, 2016

My new book and multi media project that I have been working on over the past year in support of a new conservative movement, Cues for Conservatives - What Conservatives Must Do to Reach, Inspire and Engage the Millennial Generation and Beyond, is nearly complete. My book, along with short videos I'm producing in support of the project, will be launching via a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo.com on or about March 30th.  The timing couldn't be more urgent with the upcoming presidential election and the mounting divisions within the Republican Party.

In brief, America's political future will very soon lie largely in the hands of the Millennial Generation, people who born between 1981 and 1999. They are now coming of age and beginning to take over the workforce, and soon they'll control American politics, too, leaning heavily liberal, socialist and Democrat. What will this mean for the future of our country? And, how can conservatives respond to this alarming trend?
How can we better reach, inspire and engage this younger generation to save our country from the failed and destructive liberal agenda? The political Left, leaning ever more radically progressive, has succeeded in persuading Millennials, significantly out-messaging conservatives with their mastery of political marketing and domination of the media, entertainment and education. If Republicans do not build a unified front and have a clear strategy to win the support of younger voters, we will quickly become a permanent minority party.
I started this project because I, as an experienced marketing professional, could no longer stand by as I see radical progressives succeed with the younger generation, while conservatives continue with the same old and failed methods.  I also believe that the Republican party is in need of real change within its ranks, and that the party needs to become far more inclusive of Americans of all stripes, including people of every background, ethnicity, gender and orientation.  With the growing divisions within the GOP, we need to reshape the party's image and branding to consolidate our message and attract a younger, evolving electorate.

Cues for Conservatives is a book that I've written - and a movement I've started - that focuses on how the Left has managed to win Millennial voters and other key demographics, and how conservatives can use some of these same methods, in addition to some bold new tactics of our own, to win them back. It is the how-to handbook and multimedia campaign guide for proactively defending and promoting conservatism with our changing electorate.

In the coming weeks, I will be launching a fundraising campaign on Indiegogo, a leading crowdfunding website, to fund this ambitious project. I have a goal of getting a copy of Cues to every conservative and independent member of Congress, as well as producing the book and a series of engaging viral videos, digital media and events to reach millions of conservatives and Millennial voters.
